A Busy Weekend in Bedford

June 4th was a very busy day in Bedford.

I started out at farmers' market at John Jay Homestead. The John Jay Homestead State Historic Site is located at 400 Jay Street in Katonah, New York. The site preserves the 1787 home of statesman John Jay, one of the three authors of The Federalist Papers and the first Chief Justice of the United States. This Saturday was their "Know the Farm Dinner".

Guests enjoyed seasonal cocktails and farm dinner in a picturesque meadow under the stars. Purdy’s Farmer and the Fish catered the whole evening and a Brooklyn based blue grass band provided music for the beautiful event.

In the afternoon, dear friends Dominique and Martha invited 50 plus guests at Lulu Farm to celebrate the launch of Ann Leary’s new novel “The Foundling”. Ann is the wife of actor Dennis Leary, and is also a New York Times bestselling author. Dominique’s house and garden is one of the best properties in our area. Everything was perfectly presented and her attention to detail is on another level. All the guests received a signed copy of her book and I can’t wait to read it.

The evening ended with the Westchester Land Trust Gala at the Lipman’s house. The Westchester Land Trust works together with public and private partners to preserve land in perpetuity, and to protect and enhance the natural resources in our communities. The event was filled with 300 plus guests and two of Republic Records artists performed for the evening.

As we are new to the Bedford area and there were not many events during last 2 years due to Covid, we are so happy to be attending all the events and parties in our community. We love meeting and socializing with new friends and like minded people for good causes . We are looking forward to many more for this summer!
