Summer Soirée 2022

Two years ago when the pandemic started, my husband, two boys and I left our life of 30 years in New York City to come here to Bedford. We weren’t sure how we would be accepted by the people of Bedford, but they welcomed us with open arms. Since moving to this area, we have met so many amazing people and have had the opportunity to attend some of the most fabulous events.

Before we knew it, friends were becoming family. From crashing our friend Adam’s house, to roaming with Wendy’s horses, and our dear neighbor Martha bringing us fresh eggs from her farm - we knew we were home.

Seeing how good the people we’ve encountered have been to us and the community, I really wanted to do something in return for our friends. What better way to show our love for the people we’ve met than throw a Summer celebration bringing everyone together?

Given it was the hottest week of the summer, I knew I needed it to be a tented event with the pool open for people to enjoy. In true Andy fashion, I messaged all of my guests to specifiy white and gray towels only, as they were coming to a designers house.

I questioned how to keep this party unique and different. For food, I decided to go with different food trucks, giving our guests a variety of foods for them to enjoy. Fed Truck served delicious grilled shrimp tacos, vegan burgers, buttermilk chicken sandwiches, street corn, and much more. Everyone loved the authentic coal fired pizza by Luca Pizza and hotdogs served by the famous Walter’s Hot Dogs. For dessert, everyone cooled off with Jimmy’s Soft Serve ice cream. Moka Origins served some of their delectable chocolate, while Royal Ranthambore sampled some of their finest whiskey.

And of course I had to have my collection of luxury cashmere, Shmere, on display for friends to view and try on. It’s one thing to hear about my pieces, but its another thing to feel it, wear it and experience it. It’s never too hot for cashmere.

I love seeing people connect and nothing made me happier than seeing all the people I care about coming together and enjoying each other’s company. I look forward to meeting even more people as the year continues and I’m so thankful for all the love and support shown to my family upon arriving here in Bedford.
