Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts Opening Night

The 2022 Caramoor Summer Season has officially begun!

Ever since we moved to our new house in Bedford, I’ve wanted to go to Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, as we live only 5 minutes away. This past weekend I attended the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts Opening Night. It was so great to see people from the community coming together to support the arts and enjoy a beautiful night together.

Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts is a destination for exceptional music, captivating programs, and spectacular gardens and grounds for all to enjoy. Today it serves as a live music venue for symphonic, opera, chamber, American roots, and jazz, performances and enriches the lives of its audiences through innovative and diverse musical performances of the highest quality.

Their Opening Night Concert was exceptional and featured Yo-Yo Ma, a child prodigy and one of the greatest cellist of our time. Yo-Yo Ma has performed as a soloist with orchestras around the world, recording more than 90 albums and receiving 19 Grammy Awards. He exudes talent and it was an honor to see him perform live.

Caramoor’s 2022 Summer Season also kicked off with a festive performance by The Knights, a trailblazing group of young musicians that have developed “a strong reputation for polished performances and imaginative programming”. The Knights are a collective of adventurous musicians dedicated to transforming the orchestral experience and adding their own spin by mixing in fun elements to catupre a younger audience. Driven by an open-minded spirit of camaraderie and exploration, they inspire listeners with vibrant programs rooted in the classical tradition and passion for artistic discovery. As part of their finale they performed “The Big Noise from Winnetka”, encouraging the audience to clap along and participate.

The dinner gala had 500 people and was filled with locals from our area. Despite it being an unexpected chilly evening for June, everyone was so happy to be celebrating with each other, surrounded by music, art, good friendship right here in Bedford. I had a wonderful time at the event and feel so thankful to have such an amazing venue in my community. The night was filled with beautiful scenery, delicious food and new memories with great friends.
