Clive Davis’ 90th Birthday Celebration

As one of the most respected names in music history, Clive Davis has not only seen it all, but discovered and fostered some of the most iconic names in entertainment, from Janis Joplin to Whitney Houston, Bruce Springsteen to Alicia Keys. Mr. Davis is not only a true legend of our time, but is also one of the most generous and genuine friends we have met, as well as his life partner Greg Schriefer.

Evan and I were so honored to be invited to his 90th birthday week long celebration. We started at Clive Davis’ Institute of Recorded Music in NYC. The dinner party was held at River Cafe in Brooklyn, hosting around 300 guests, all of which were very excited to be there.

The next night, 625 guests were invited to Casa Cipriani in Downtown NYC. It was a party fit for a music king. The who’s who of the music and entertainment business, David Foster hosted the evening - which included performances by Earth, Wind & Fire, Barry Manilow, Patti Smith, Art Garfunkel, Dionne Warwick, Kenny G. and Bruce Springsteen.

Alicia Keys gave a heartfelt speech and gushed about her family’s love for Davis as her husband, Swizz Beatz, beamed from the front row. Deborah Cox, Tamron Hall, Beverly Johnson, Ann Dexter-Jones, Don Lemon, Suzanne Somers, Gianni Harrell, Richie Akiva, Marjorie “Mad Marj” Gubelmann, Katie Couric, Sandra Lee, Nelly Moudime, Greg Schriefer, Nikki Haskell, artist Paul Gerben, Republic Records founder Monte Lipman and wife, Angelina, were also a few of the faces in the room.

The party and event continued to 2 am that evening, further proving how cherished Mr. Davis is by many. He was surround by friends and families the whole week from all over the country. What an inspiration to all of us!
