Duryea’s Montauk

Duryea’s restaurant in Montauk, NY is a delicious restaurant that embraces casual seaside, yet a chic and festive ambiance. The Duryea’s experience captures the picturesque beauty of Montauk with its simplicity, but also highlights luxury through it’s fresh seafood, wine, and excellent hospitality.

When I vacationed in Montauk this summer, I had a fabulous time at Duryea’s. Duryea’s has been a long time staple in Montauk and it is clear to see why. Once upon a time, this restaurant was a small family business for 80 years until new management purchased the business in 2016. The new owners and management wanted to make improvements to the once small run family business, however they strived to keep the authentic Montauk vibe of the historic fish market and lobster deck.

Duryea’s is one of the more fancy take out restaurants in the area and as you walk in, you are greeted with a beautiful view. Even though Duryea's is a self-serve seafood eatery, do not let that fool you. The place is more than a restaurant - it is an experience. Duryea’s is known for it’s high end price point but the food is well worth it. Upon walking in, you fill out a small paper choosing what you’d like to eat, hand the paper to the staff at the counter and soon after your food is being delivered to you. The food, while expensive, lunch ranging from $200-$400, is top quality. The lobster rolls, french fries, chips, and fresh seafood is what keeps the diners happy and coming back. The restaurant is often visited by celebrities and everyone is dressed in a coastal vibe, with long maxi dresses and natuical attire. The lunch wait can be anywhere to an hour and dinner might even be a 2 hour wait, but on site is a small shop boutique where restaurant goers can shop their cashmere hoodies, crewnecks, and printed tee shirts.

Overall, Duryea’s is one place you must visit if you are visiting Montauk. If you are looking for authentic food and a beautiful scenery, Duryea’s is a place to visit and enjoy while vacationing.
